The inability to communicate by text. This may or may not extend to reading. This is separate from the term nonverbal, as potentially the person is still able to comfortably speak. This does not mean literacy. Headmates may rely on other methods of communication, such as GIFs, emojis, audio files, recordings, voice and/or video chat, someone translating, or ect.
